Early Booking According to a study on Early Booking in Germany, Germans do not give up their holiday plans despite economic uncertainties.

The research, titled Tourism Analysis and conducted by the German Future Studies Foundation, shows that in 2024, 63% of the population took at least a 5-day vacation.

The head of the foundation, Ulrich Reinhardt, emphasizes that this figure is the highest in the past 20 years.

The key highlights of the Early Booking Study are as follows:

The percentage of Germans who prefer to vacation in their own country is 36.2%.

Germans who travel within Germany usually choose the Baltic Sea or the mountains.

The most popular regions are Bavaria, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Baden-Württemberg, and Lower Saxony.


The European country where Germans most like to vacation is Spain, followed by Italy in second place and Turkey in third.

For vacations outside Europe, Germans mainly prefer Asian countries.


The number of Germans making early bookings continues to rise.

Already, 36% have booked their summer holidays.

The economy generated by Germans traveling for leisure and vacation purposes is expected to grow by 6% in 2025 compared to the previous year, reaching 85 billion euros.
